Description

This worksheet accompanies the iCell app (Full name: HudsonAlpha iCell. The app has a purple cell with a pink background). Students with access to iPads or other tablets with the Google Play Store may download this FREE app! The app is a great visual for students that allows them to view digital 3D images of an animal cell, a bacteria cell, and a plant cell. The main organelles are included and students can click on the individual organelles and manipulate the 3D image to zoom in and turn the cell in any direction.

The worksheet is 4 pages long and goes along with each of the 3 cell types. Directions are included on the worksheet. The worksheet requires students to use the "fill-in-the-blank" method for most questions, and some other short answer questions. The ZIP file contains the PDF version and Microsoft Word so you can edit it, add or delete questions, or differentiate it for your students.

The app has 3 different "Text" difficulties to choose from: Basic, Intermediate and Advanced. This worksheet should be used with the "Basic" text. The Basic text could be used with upper elementary, junior high, or any grade level that focuses on basic concepts and vocabulary. I have used the Intermediate text with my 10th grade Biology students. The Advanced text could be used with advanced students or those in Honors courses. I would suggest downloading the app first to see which language will be right for your students.

I also have created worksheets that accompany the Intermediate and Advanced text here:

-Intermediate Text: iCell App: Intermediate Text

-Advanced Text: Coming soon!

ANSWER SHEET IS INCLUDED! :)
