Description

It looks in the view like the streets are all chunked out. I promise they are nice clean avenues I am not sure why the preview looks so bad. Here is a blank map like the ones that they will give your students on tests and ask them what streets are parallel too what street or perpendicular to what street. I used my students names so they would have more fun with the activity and then just made a list of questions based off of the street names. I hope that this helps my kids loved the activity and finding their names on the map.

This cut and paste activity was a great way to reinforce parallel, intersecting, and perpendicular lines in a concrete way. My 6th through 8th grade learning center students benefit from physically sorting and placing examples, especially when vocabulary can feel abstract. It kept them focused and gave me a quick visual check for understanding. This is a simple, structured activity that supports learners who need repetition and clear examples to build confidence.

My students loved using this resource. It was easy to make copies for groups and also to scan to push the Google classroom. I used it in centers for independent work as well as small group work at the teacher table.

This was great for teaching parallel and perpendicular lines with a real-life context.

Thank you! I love your suggestion of how you use the map with the students' names. Great idea!
