Alicia is the creative behind Primary Scouts. She’s is a certified librarian and elementary teacher from Dallas, Texas. While the majority of Alicia’s career experience has been within her favorite grade level, KINDERGARTEN! She has also taught 4th grade math and served PreK-6th graders in the school library.
Teaching style
Alicia is passionate about student centered learning and small groups. She’s an advocate for creativity in the classroom, loves using learning crafts, hands-on activities, and of course… boatloads of picture books to assist with comprehension skills.
Awards & shining teacher moments
Alicia was awarded the 2019 Trailblazer Teacher Award from Richardson ISD as a Kinder Teacher for innovative and creative teaching. She has also served on a district level leadership team, led PD's and assisted with kindergarten curriculum within district.
My own education history
Alicia has a Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies and Master Degree in Library Science! She's certified to teach EC-6 and holds certification for elementary school librarianship.
