About the store
This is my third year teaching second grade in the Arlington school system, and I absolutely love it! I believe children "learn by doing", that is why our classroom room is very hands on with lots of fun activities and projects to go along with the curriculum. I talk with my students rather than at them, and always encourage them to be courageous with their ideas, share their thoughts, stay curious, and remind them that the only important thing is to try your best : )

*UPDATED! 2/24/14* New clip art and fonts Added a planning sheet to help students organize their steps! Making sure students are able to write "How to's" is part of the Common Core and I think they are super fun! Having kids teach you (in their own words) how to do something can be very funny! I usually do something simple that all students can relate to. Here is a sample from my "How to" unit! If you like it please rate it : )

Bump is a fun and interactive game that students can play to practice basic math facts (helps improve fluency and works on mental math with three digits). The idea of the game is that students will roll three number cubes, add the sum, and cover the answer with a marker (encourage them to use mental math strategies). If the number is already covered by the partner's marker, the other student may "bump" it off and take its place! Students will love this fun and engaging activity just in time fo

A cute measurement activity that can be used independently at a math center or as a whole group activity (I hang them around the room and have the kids find them kind of like Ispy! There are eight different monsters all of various lengths (inch and half inch) which the students will have to estimate and then measure. They will record their answers on the worksheet that goes along with the activity.

This is an engaging activity/worksheet that I usually have my students do for morning work or as an extra center when they finish early! The students have to cut out a variety of different nouns and glue them under the correct column (person, place, or thing). It allows the kids to cut and glue (which they always love!) and practice their skills without having to write at all!

This is a simple worksheet to engage your students and have them practice sorting nouns into the three types: person, place, or thing. It can be used as practice to reinforce the skill, or would be a perfect tool for teachers to use if you want to quickly check a student's understanding of this concept! Enjoy, and please considering leaving feedback if you liked using this in your classroom!
