This is a extension activity for CKLA 1st Grade Knowledge Lesson 10.9. Students first design their own colorful kites. Then, they attach 3 inventions and a key to help remember the important inventions/discovery of Benjamin Franklin!

This is an extension activity for the CKLA 1st Grade Knowledge Lesson 10.6. It includes the pieces needed to make George Washington Inspired headbands/hats!

This is an extension activity for Domain 10 Lesson 5 of the CKLA 1st Grade Knowledge curriculum. Students will first complete a pretend interview of Betsy Ross. They will formulate two questions "to ask Betsy Ross" and then formulate the answers to go with these questions. After the writing activity, students make a tissue paper flag to go along with their writing.

This is an extension activity to the CKLA 1st Grade Knowledge Domain 10 Lesson 1. In this activity students will put together a puzzle of the 13 colonies. After putting the puzzles together there are handwriting lines to write a sentence about the read aloud. *please note, my students did NOT cut the puzzle pieces out. I pre-cut them for each group.

This is a craft to go with Domain 10 Lesson 3 of the CKLA First Grade curriculum. After learning about "the shot heard around the world" students put together a replica of the Old North Church where 2 lanterns are displayed for Paul Revere to know that "The British are coming!"

Student construct 3D tea cups to represent the taxes being enforced by the King on the colonists. *please not this activity is a little tricky to complete. About half my class were able to complete this class independently but the others did need some help.

This is a vocabulary journal to accompany CKLA Knowledge Domain 10 A New Nation Edition 2 (1st grade). Included are individual pages for each core vocabulary word from the domain.
