About the store
I've been in secondary classrooms for over a decade, and I've rarely taught the same thing twice. My background spans Social Studies, Career and Technical Education, Speech and Debate, Economics, Government, Geography, Business, Logistics, and Entrepreneurship. I run the school's student store. I've coached competitive debate. I seek out new challenges on purpose. Every new subject, every new format, every new group of students teaches me something about how learning actually works. That experience feeds directly into what I build. The result is a catalog that does not look like it came from one lane.

About the store

Experience

I've been in secondary classrooms for over a decade, and I've rarely taught the same thing twice. My background spans Social Studies, Career and Technical Education, Speech and Debate, Economics, Government, Geography, Business, Logistics, and Entrepreneurship. I run the school's student store. I've coached competitive debate. I seek out new challenges on purpose. Every new subject, every new format, every new group of students teaches me something about how learning actually works. That experience feeds directly into what I build. The result is a catalog that does not look like it came from one lane.

Teaching style

Engaged learners are active learners. That is the idea behind everything in this store. That looks different depending on the lesson. Sometimes it's a structured debate where every student has a defined role and a real deliverable. Sometimes it's a simulation, a game, a case study, or a well-designed direct instruction sequence that actually holds attention. The format follows the content. The goal is always the same: keep students in the work, not watching it from the sidelines. I do not write lessons that require 45 minutes of prep to understand. If you bought it the night before, it should still run cleanly the next morning.

Awards & shining teacher moments

The moments that stick are never about me. They're the student who changed their position mid-lesson and could tell you exactly what moved them. The quiet kid who asks the best question of the day because the activity gave them a reason to speak. The class that ran long because no one wanted to stop. That's the target. That's what these materials are built for.

My own education history

I studied Business, Curriculum and Instructions, and the Social Sciences. After a stint in the private sector, I earned a teaching credential in Social Studies. My classroom eventually expanded into CTE, where I teach Business, Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Personal Finance alongside running the school's student store. Speech and Debate was a passion of mine as a student, and resurfaced as a core competency of mine later in life as a teacher and coach.

Additional biographical information

Edlucem is the brand behind this store. The name comes from the Latin "Ad lucem", meaning "to the light," a term used in educational pursuits throughout history. The catalog covers a range of formats: debates, simulations, games, activities, and direct instruction materials, all built around the same principle that students learn more when they are genuinely engaged in the work. The goal is a store where a teacher can find something that actually fits their classroom, not just their subject. Follow the store to see what's coming next.
