size: 11x17 Print and laminate this poster to display upcoming songs in your music classroom. I use this for "Keep The Beat", a beat keeping warmup activity where students copy the beat motions I make up while listening to popular music.

Write a rhythm inside of each heart, creating an 8 beat pattern. Students can clap or perform their pattern on an unpitched percussion instrument. Have students use crayons/markers/colored pencils to give their hearts some color!

Included in your purchase are the notation, game instructions, a rhythm decoding worksheet, and my lesson visuals for the song Mouse Mousie. I teach the song and play the game with students in at least 2 classes before we decode rhythms. I start with popsicle stick decoding (each student gets popsicle sticks and 4 hearts for each "beat". We decode line by line. The next class, we do the worksheet together and students color the images at the bottom before bringing home to share with families.

Little Bunny Foo Foo is a cute little song story about a bunny who did not obey the wishes of the Good Fairy and would not leave the field mice alone. The song is to the tune of "Down by the Station" and there are also books of the same name that can pair with this song story. Print and cut out these assessment manipulatives to use along with my Carnival of the Animals 10 lesson unit.
