He involves students in exploring a wealth of music from a variety of cultures and historical periods by singing, moving, and playing instruments. Willis believes that the study of music is a unique creative experience that provides opportunities to reinforce skills and concepts of other disciplines, while developing lifelong learning skills. He is passionate that the cultivation of musicianship begins at a young age and that every child has musical potential.

For a decade Willis has educated, mentored, and developed students through the power of music. He currently serves as the music specialist at Andrew Jackson Elementary School (Metro Nashville Public Schools). His choirs have received superior ratings at state and national vocal competitions. Also his students have been featured on the ABC News Special: Teachers Rock alongside country music recording star Carrie Underwood. Mr. Willis has presented music education workshops at state, national, and international conferences. His specialty is embedding musical instruction that will empower and engage all children to achieve at their best.
