Fred Willman

Fred Willman was a retired teacher who taught seventh-grade social studies for over 33 years in Naperville, IL. He was a teacher consultant with the National Geographic Society creating and reviewing education materials and is a past president of the Illinois Geographical Society.

Fred Willman was a teacher-consultant with National Geographic and traveled across the country and the globe to share his best practices and learn from fellow teachers. Fred was a college professor, and a past president of the Illinois Geographical Society. Fred could make a game of any task or situation and often whistled while he worked. He was the author of Why Mascots Have Tales and a published rhyming poet. He was a list-maker, storyteller, nicknamer, and humorist with a joke or funny observation for any occasion.
