I'm Amie Bentley, a certified, award-winning visual art teacher & curriculum designer with 20 years of experience. I create art projects, lessons, & crafts for elementary & middle school teachers, and homeschooling parents. Art teachers shouldn't have to reinvent the wheel, and my goal is to ensure they don't have to.
I’ve taught K–8 (with brief pre‑K experience) and served as a substitute for my art professor during my senior year in college. I created my school's very first yearbook
All 20 years of my teaching experience have been in Title 1 public schools. My true passion is working with 6th, 7th, and 8th graders to create portfolios for acceptance into a local visual and performing arts high school program here in NJ.
My students begin developing their skills and love of art during their 6th-grade year in 'Studio Art.' Then, their 7th and 8th-grade years are solely dedicated to building a portfolio that reflects their vision and voice. We work on creating 10 pieces (drawings, paintings, collage work, printmaking, and mixed media) that showcase their art skills.
Meanwhile, my elementary-aged artists are picking up many important art skills and techniques along the way.
After dedicating 20 years to art education, I now design art lessons, projects, and supplementary materials for other art educators.
