About the store
Waabishkaanakwadikwe Ndizhinikaaz. My name is White Cloud Woman, also known as Marika Schalla. I am an educator, curriculum developer, researcher & mother from Winnipeg, Manitoba. I am Red River Metis, Anishinaabe and Cree. All of the teachings and resources I provide stem from my cultural backgrounds. I hold a Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Education, and Post Baccalaureate Education in Indigenous Knowledges. I am a mother to two beautiful kids. My family truly means everything to me and they are the reason I do everything I do. My children are the next generation of strong Indigenous people. They will have a strong foundation that we have built for which they will flourish on. I do a lot of research on the integration of Indigenous perspectives, histories, epistemologies, and pedagogies into curricular subject content. As a teacher, I work diligently to incorporate as much Indigenous pedagogy I can into my curricula. As well, I am currently reclaiming the Anishanaabemowin (Ojibwe) and Red River Michif languages. I utilize my own teachings into my lesson implementation and curricula development.
