Stern and sarcastic, which served me well in middle school classrooms.
Awards & shining teacher moments
Near the end of the only summer school term I spent teaching, one of my students (who was getting ready to enter 7th grade) finished reading a self-selected novel for the first time in his life. He'd been updating me periodically about his progress - he was excited, but he didn't want his classmates to know it. I watched him that day as he finished the last page and closed the book. He caught my eye and gave me a silent head nod to let me know he was done. I'm not sure I've ever been prouder.
My own education history
I earned a B.S. in Journalism from CU-Boulder and an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from CU-Denver. Creating lesson plans and instructional materials has always been one of my favorite aspects of teaching, and I'm so happy to be able to do it for other teachers here at TpT!
