I've taught all elementary grade levels from PK through 5th. I have experience as a teacher, math coach, science specialist, gifted coordinator, curriculum developer, and educational consultant. Most of my experience is teaching math... and I LOVE it! Find out all about me on my Blog: Sum Math Fun
I want each of my students to grow into having the same passion and enthusiasm for math and learning that I do. I want that passion and enthusiasm to be contagious. I know that if I can help students believe in themselves, they will have more positive attitudes. We will have fun and learn at the same time. I use hands-on lessons and activities, focused direct instruction, and lots of practice and patience! I love the "A-ha" moment when a student discovers something for himself-especially when it's the same thing I've already "taught" him!
I was awarded the Eisenhower grant for mathematics teaching. Through this grant, I attended classes at Rice University. I have presented at National Council of Teachers of Mathematics conferences, given frequent PD in my school district, and have done consulting work for other school districts.
I feel very fortunate to have the opportunities that I have. Thank you to all of my wonderful co-workers in my past and present. I continue to learn and grow from each of you every day!
A huge thank you to Carmen of Love Teach and Learn for my rotating quote box, side banner, and leaderboard. :) Love, Teach, and Learn
