Hi! I have been teaching elementary special education for over five years. I am dually-certified in special education and elementary education and have worked in a variety of different classroom settings including a self-contained classroom with full-day special education students, a blended classroom with full-day and partial-day special education students, and fourth and fifth grade inclusion classrooms. I have experience teaching students with many diverse strengths, talents, interests, and learning needs. I LOVE co-teaching and am excited to design resources teachers can use to support students with diverse educational strengths and needs IN the general education classroom. I enjoy working with ALL learners and watching them soar to success!
I love using multisensory instruction techniques. I use a lot of visual supports and hands-on materials and activities in my lessons to help students grasp new material. I am certified as an Associate in the Orton-Gillingham approach to structured, multisensory reading instruction. I use concrete-representational-abstract scaffolding in math.

I love hiking, traveling, trying new things, exploring the natural world, and experiencing arts and culture in new cities. I believe that each student is a special treasure in the classroom and that the learning environment is enriched by our different strengths, talents, and interests.
