This book can be used with the whole class or with a small group of students. The teacher will call out a sentence including the CVC image at the end of the line. The sentence might be: I can see a cat. Children will write this sentence either independently or by copying off the board. Once the students have been supported with the first three sentences, they will write the fourth sentence independently.

I endeavor to create a balance between explicit, direct instruction as well as rich play based - student directed learning. This is my teaching goal and I strive towards creating this culture within each class I work.

I was awarded the University of Notre Dame Australia Youth Leadership award for the voluntary work I have done with children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
My own education history
I graduated from University in 2011 and was fortunate enough to be offered a full-time position in a remote community. From there, I continued to learn and grow as a teacher and find out what makes me motivated to come to work each day.

I hope to create resources which will support the development of foundational Literacy, Numeracy and Wellbeing concepts specifically for students in their first few years of full-time schooling.
