This is a checklist that guides student partners to work together. It helps students to analyze a word problem, discuss the steps and have accountable talk with a classmate. I find this very useful in my 5th grade class. It can work for most grades. -There are two checklist on one copy. You can print as needed. Each partnership gets one. -You can attach these to student group work and display on bulletin boards.
This checklist guides partners into having strong and meaningful conversations. This can be use with different subjects. My students use this during reading and math. It holds both students in the partnership accountable for completing part of a task. This works well with word problems or reading comprehension questions.
Using checklist during an activity ensures that you gets a task done on time. It helps you keep track of steps/directions in a organized way. This visual checklist will help guide students to answer word problems with a partner/group. They can refer back to it and use it to guide them to achieve a Math task. My students find this helpful. We attach the checklist to the group work before displaying it on a bulletin board as well.
Students can use this while drafting a Science Fiction writing piece. You can revise the expectations as you'd like. It's a great tool for students to self assess and peer assess their writing.

I attached it as a Power point so that each student can independently try each lead. You can also group students and assign them a different lead to share with the class.
