I typically teach with a clear purpose so that my students understand what is essential in each lesson. I am results-oriented, so setting a good tempo and teaching with a sense of urgency has always been evident in my lessons. I believe all students can learn. I believe that the fundamental goal of teaching is that every learner be guaranteed the opportunity to reach his or her greatest potential. Every year, I promise my students and parents that I will do my best to achieve this. It is up to me as an educator to provide the opportunities for academic growth and behavioral success. The bottom line, however, is that there is only ONE way that a student can ultimately be successful…and that is for them to believe in themselves. The trust that is required from students in a teacher is immeasurable. Regardless of the subject matter, it is the preparation of a teacher, the opportunities provided for success, consistent procedures, and the motivational support that leads to the greatest progress.
