Denise is currently homeschooling in early education, pre-school, and kindergarten. In the past Denise has taught Higher Education majors Biology, Biodiversity, Ecology, and Best Practices in Teaching, High School Biology of Human Affairs, standard Biology, AP Prep Biology, and AP Biology, and Grade School Ecology and General Biology.
Matthew is currently teaching in higher education. He teaches Higher Education General Biology (majors and non-majors), General Biology II (majors), Ecology, Ichthyology, Cave Biology, Comparative Vertebrate Biology, and Herpetology. Teaching style
Matthew and Denise both find it beneficial to allow students to explore as they learn. Therefore, they both use an assortment of teaching styles including instructor-led lectures, student-led discussions, laboratory experiences, and literature-oriented learning. They enjoy student centered approaches such as problem based learning and flipped-classrooms.
