Teaching style
My core values: 1.) Provide a safe, friendly, child-centered learning community focused on excellence and success for all students 2.) Work collaboratively and transparently with teachers, parents, and students 3.) Be an advocate for inclusive education 4.) Provide differentiated instruction to ensure all individual needs are met 5.) Focus on life skills and incorporate play into my teaching as a way to learn, grow, solve problems, encourage pro-social behaviors, build confidence, and increase independence.
My own education history
I am an alum of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Go Big Red! I have my Education Specialist Degree in reading education. Let's go Lynx! My training includes Wilson Language, Colorado Writing Project, LETRS 2nd and 3rd Ed., and Orton-Gillingham through OGI and IMSE. The products I create, use, and sell are entirely my own work.
Additional biographical information
My family is everything to me. My husband is profoundly Deaf from birth and teaches ASL. My son loves Taekwondo and flag football. My daughter enjoys dancing and tumbling. As a family, we enjoy hiking, camping, swimming, and skiing. Some of my favorite things include coffee, podcasts, and ethnic foods. I collect indoor plants and children's books with beautiful illustrations. In my spare time, I coach for Special Olympics Young Athletes. My team does autumn bowling, winter basketball, and spring track-and-field.
