This is a great lab to do with middle school Earth Science students who are learning about the rock cycle. This is a common lab that can be used to show the different steps of the rock cycle and the lab sheet walks students thoroughly through each step. Students will create sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rock using their Starbursts. Preparation is fairly easy for this lab as well.
