This product can be used to teach theme and symbolism in literature. Originally designed to accompany Tuck Everlasting, by Natalie Babbitt, but hand outs can be reproduced and used with any book students are studying. Included is a description of theme and symbolism, recording sheets, discussion questions, clip art, and a sample list of themes and symbols found in Tuck Everlasting. Clip art is included to assist with differentiation.
Graphic organizers for all of the main characters in Tuck Everlasting accompanied with a master list of adjectives to describe the characters. Designed to help students record and organize the details they learn about each character, as well as make inferences about the character's purpose in the story.
This is a Mad Libs type of story to fill in as a class when you are substitute teaching. I use this activity as an end-of-day reward or time-filler between activities.
