My dreams of being a teacher became true thirteen years ago. I taught 6th grade ELA and all subjects in 5th grade. I currently teach 5th grade ELA and social studies. For the past 11 years, I have taught advanced and gifted students. I also have experience teaching after school programs for children with special needs.
My motto is to begin each week with Marvelous Monday and end with Fabulous Friday! I love engaging my students in project-based learning centers and working in small group reading centers. I feel that all reading standards can be taught through novel studies, and I have created many of my own assessments and activities that I revise each year. The only way to teach history is to make it come alive. My classroom is my HAPPY place, so I pour my heart and soul into each lesson every day!
