Teaching style

The focus of my classroom is to deeply know and love my students, inspire a sincere desire to learn and grow, and provide hands-on, thought provoking lessons designed to ignite critical thinking, problem solving, and further study. I want my students to hunger for more class time and continue the conversation started in class on the recess field and at home. I aim to mentor future leaders and change makers.

My own education history

My undergraduate degree is in art and architecture. While working in the field I worked part time as a tutor for a test prep company and realized how much I enjoyed working with students. Taking the lessons learned from university about out of the box thinking, I became certified to teach and then a year later began a Masters in Education program. Since then I have maintained my certifications for a variety of topics in the state of Texas and have attended innumerable PD sessions to refine my practice.
