Being able to differentiate between an observation and inference is a necessary skill applicable to a variety of content areas, especially the sciences. I typically teach observations and inferences early in the school year right before introducing science and engineering practices. There are 2 different versions available to allow for differentiation.

I made this reflection sheet to go along with the documentary Lurking in the Trees; a documentary featuring the destruction caused by the Asian Long-Horned Beetle, particularly in New England.

I use this comic strip assignment as an assessment on heat transfer. I have included the rubric as well.

Each period, as students enter my class, they grab a response sheet and use it to answer the daily question which is projected on the board.
