This is a rubric I use with my students when assigning group work. It has made a huge difference in the quality of the work because each of the students are accountable to each other. I take this as a grade after I average out the score given to each student including their own self-assessment. They are surprisingly hard on themselves. :/ It's very important to spend a lot of time discussing it before using it for the first time.

Additional biographical information

Teaching is a second career for me and my first year of teaching was at the age of 40. I absolutely still love teaching after 20 years in elementary! I currently live in the Charlotte, North Carolina area with my husband, son and 1 crazy dog!
