TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am the Middle School Math Curriculum Specialist at the nine Intermediate Schools in Santa Ana, CA. For the past 15 years I have taught Pre-Algebra to seventh and eighth grade Limited English Proficient, Special Education and low math skills students. In addition, I have provided countless hours of staff development to middle school math and upper elementary teachers.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Develop conceptual understanding of pre-algebra concepts by using scaffolding methodologies, graphic organizers, multiple representations, real life situations and group activities. Emphasis in understanding mathematical concepts rather than memorizing rules and procedures.
