Teaching style

When I am in the classroom; it is my time to be creative, innovative, and engaging with my students. It is my purpose and plans to "bring classroom learning" to life. When I teach, I teach to the scholar/student...I utilize the cookie-cutter approach and individualize the learning. I use a variety of methods that will keep the scholars engaged and interested in learning.

Awards & shining teacher moments

✨ 2025 East Academy Teacher of the Year Crowned Teacher of the Year at East Academy in 2025, this honor reflects not just classroom excellence but also relentless commitment, whole-child instruction, and a deep belief that every student can thrive when the right support meets the right strategy. 📈 8 Years of Growth in ELA Value-Added For nearly a decade, I’ve led East Academy’s ELA department with purpose and passion, consistently growing our value-added scores year after year. That means my students didn’t just meet expectations, they exceeded them, defying labels, gaps, and statistics with grit and grace. For 8 consecutive years, our middle schoolers have shown measurable, meaningful growth in English Language Arts—proving that culturally relevant, standards-driven instruction changes lives. 📚 Curriculum Innovator & Literacy Leader From reimagining outdated curriculum to creating data-informed, real-world literacy experiences, I’ve served as a go-to instructional leader in transforming how students read, write, speak, and think. Whether through interdisciplinary projects, debate-centered lessons, or SEL-infused writing prompts, I teach beyond the test and always aim for the aha moment. 🌍 Teacher. Mentor. Movement Maker. Beyond the classroom, I coach new educators, build culturally-affirming resources, and speak truth into tired systems. Whether leading professional development or curating my TPT store (Let’s TEACH Beyond the Classroom), I’m committed to elevating education for today’s learners and tomorrow’s leaders.

My own education history

Welcome to The Unapologetic Educator who TEACHES, where educators TEACHES with innovation, intention, and impact. The Unapologetic Educator who TEACHES —a space built for teachers who refuse to dilute their brilliance, soften their standards, or apologize for teaching with intention. I’m Dr. Tiffany Ja’Nishia—educator, scholar, teacher leader, and lifelong student of both pedagogy and people. With over 16 years in the classroom and more than two decades in the field of education, I’ve learned this truth: effective teaching is not about perfection; it’s about purpose. And purpose requires courage. This store was created for educators who understand that teaching is both science and soul work. Every resource here is grounded in research-based instructional design, culturally responsive pedagogy, and trauma-informed practice—yet shaped by the realities of real classrooms, real students, and real constraints. I design tools that honor rigor without rigidity, structure without suffocation, and standards without erasing student identity. The Unapologetic Educator who TEACHES exists because teachers deserve resources that work with them, not against them. You’ll find middle school ELA materials, planning systems, leadership tools, SEL-infused resources, and technology integration supports that are practical, intentional, and built to save time while increasing impact. This is not a store for compliance-driven teaching. This is a store for conscious educators. For teachers who teach loudly, lead boldly, and plan with purpose. If you believe literacy is liberation, relationships are foundational, and clarity is an act of care—then you are exactly where you’re meant to be. Welcome to The Unapologetic Educator who TEACHES No shrinking. No fluff. No apologies. — Dr. Tiffany Ja’Nishia Educator. Scholar. Curriculum Designer.
