Teaching style
I am committed to teach to the whole child, differentiating and enriching my instruction as needed, and working closely with parents to support their child's learning. I am passionate about using literature every day to link all curricular standards, and provide an engaging context for teaching vocabulary, grammar, word work and reading skills. I believe in the power of investigation and discovery, and I work to provide STEAM projects tied to the literature we read. I support my students in taking responsibility for their own learning while making their own strong connections across the curriculum, all of which deepens their understandings and strengthen their love for learning.
As an avid reader and a fan of crafts and cooking, I love to strengthen my students' literacy with engaging discussions and time for a hands-on project. Sharing literature is fun, engaging, develops critical thinking, and... brings us all great joy! Come join me in the journey!
