About the store
I have been a school librarian since 2016. During this time, I have flipped two school libraries from old, dusty libraries into 21st-century learning hubs full of students, excitement, and learning! My true passion is teaching teachers, so I always look forward to teaching PD and expanding my learning circle to include fellow educators! I also am an online course facilitator for the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teachers (NCCAT), where I build continuing education courses, and lead professional development for teachers across the state.

Minute to Win It Game Cards- Makerspace Station & Indoor Recess Activity Options

Every teacher dreads indoor recess days! These Minute to Win It Games can ease that dread with simple indoor games that stimulate the brain, while using some of that energy! These minute to win it activities use items you probably already have around the classroom to create quick games that your students are sure to love! Library Reshelving Sign

We all love our job, but reshelving books may be one of the least favorite parts. We also know how frequently kids change their minds on a book, and just set it down randomly in the book stacks for us to find later...or not.  After dealing with this problem long enough, I designed this sign to tape to the side of old rolling book carts as a reminder to students to place unwanted books HERE rather than everywhere else. This makes reshelving quicker and I worry less about books being randomly sa

Library Hall Pass- Library Pass

Teachers have office passes, nurse passes and bathroom passes- now they need a library pass! Having library passes can help control the number of students sent to the library at a time, while also promoting your library as a visual reminder to students that they need to swing by to find their next favorite book! Since implementing my own library passes, I have had an increase in visitors because teachers remember to send students and students see the hall pass hanging by the door as an option!

Multiple Library Visitor Log Forms and Matching Posters

Data is important and keeping track of everyone visiting the library is vital documentation to have on hand! I created these google forms and matching posters as a way to keep track of all students who visited my library every day. I had an old computer sat on a podium right inside my library main doors with this google form pulled up, and the poster above it. Students knew that when they walked in, they were to fill out the google form before coming in. This way I had vital documentation justif

Teaching style

I believe the best learning occurs when students are engaged, empowered and enthusiastic in their learning. I seek to encourage students to leisurely read for entertainment and to feel confident in their library space, while I encourage teachers to actively participate in PD and step outside their comfort zone to integrate new tech tools into their classroom learning. I strongly believe the best school library media programs include a flexible schedule, a welcoming library space, collaborative teaching strategies, 21st century skills and a passionate, energetic librarian!
