I’m Shelley from The Teaching Bank. I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 6th grades. All of my resources are original works authored by me and are registered with the U.S. Copyright Office. The Teaching Bank was established as a way to stay connected to education and continue creating teaching resources after my hearing loss made full-time teaching too difficult. Experience
I’m Shelley from The Teaching Bank. I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 6th grades. All of my resources are original works authored by me and are registered with the U.S. Copyright Office. Teaching style
My teaching style is to be a facilitator of learning. I believe in guiding my students to become independent learners and thinkers using a hands-on interactive approach.
My goal is to provide lessons and units for K-12 that are practical and ready to teach with minimal prep needed. I have a large number of novel studies to accompany popular chapter books for grades 1-8. I also provide full-year social studies curriculum for both 4th and 5th grade, financial literacy and everyday grammar practice activities for teens, math activities, science activities, and learning center activities.
My own education history
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Iowa State University, a master’s degree in Elementary Education as a member of the University of Nebraska-Omaha's coveted CADRE Program, and Master’s Plus classes in Elementary Economics and teaching of the Gifted & Talented. I also hold the Tax Specialist Career Certificate from Metropolitan Community College-Omaha.
