After teaching kindergarten for twelve years I was promoted to first grade at a private school in Wisconsin. I love to teach reading and math. I am always looking for new and exciting ways to help my students grow as learners.
This booklet is to help young children get to know their big buddies at school. Both students work together to complete the book and fill in information. The purpose of the book is to encourage conversation between the children.
I created classroom jobs as cards to makeover my job chart. You may use the cards to create or makeover your job chart as well. I also use the cards to label my classroom floor where the children line up.
Eric Carle is a favorite author in Early Childhood classrooms. I found some of his favorite stories on youtube and put together qr codes that my students can scan during our reading block and listen to his stories. I also have some follow up sheets that the students can fill out after they listen to the stories.

Each morning I like to have my little rascals complete a math story problem along with their calendar journal. These pirate themed math story problems are filled with money based stories for kindergarten children.
This simple syllable activity meets the common core standards K.RFS.b, counting syllables in spoken words. All the words go with one theme: Apples! I hope you enjoy this activity with your class.
