About the store
Hello! We are so glad you are here! We are Matt and Tara, Teacher Authors and owners of Tied 2 Teaching. We have been educators for more than 20 years and love teaching kids of all ages. Since 2001, Matt has taught every subject in grades ranging from 4th through 8th grade. He has served as the chair of the math department and have been involved with campus leadership for many years. In addition Matt's years of experience in the public school classroom, we homeschool our 5 children who are currently in 12th grade, 11th grade, 9th grade, 7th. We are also parents to an energetic 2 year old who is learning more and more every day. Our years of homeschooling through every grade and stage coupled with Matt's years of teacher upper elementary and middle school in the public schools, give us the unique perspective of being able to easily identify with the concerns and needs of both parents and teachers and we love creating resources that they will find fun, engaging, inspiring, and will help to lighten their load.

Teaching style
We believe learning should be fun! Matt's classroom and our home is often filled with silliness and laughter. From Matt wearing funny hats and different ties (hence the name TIED 2 TEACHING) each day to creating magical learning experiences, our students never know what will be next to bring a smile to their face. We believe that students learn best in an environment they enjoy! Our students work in an environment where they are encouraged to explore, create and try new things. In addition, we are passionate about finding ways to save time by integrating math, science, social studies, and literacy instruction in meaningful and engaging ways.
