TEACHING EXPERIENCE

HI! We are so glad that you are here. We are Tammy and Marquise Taylor. We are married educators who specialize in upper elementary science and math. Tammy's experience is centered in 5th grade science, math and social studies. Marquise spent a few years in 5th grade science before moving to 4th grade math, science, and social studies. He also serves as the campus technology integration educator. Both have 5 years of STEM camp leadership experience for students in grades 6-8.

MY TEACHING STYLE

We believe that learning happens most successfully when students are active and engaged. Though that is not an original idea, our goal is to teach to the best of our abilities while staying true to that belief. A visit to either one of our classrooms would show students up, moving, sharing, laughing and actively seeking their learning.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Both Tammy and Marquise have been named Teacher of the Year. Tammy's classroom was designated as a Continuous Improvement Demonstration Classroom.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Tammy has a Bachelor of Arts in Mid-level Math and Science. Marquise has a Bachelor of Science in Mid-level Math and Science and a Masters in Science Curriculum and Instruction.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

We met in the education program at UTA and were married a year after graduation. After many years of wanting a child we welcomed our twin girls in January 2017. Tammy is currently working from home and cherishing time with our daughters.
