Four Vowel Charts
There are four Vowel Charts, one for each of the following groups: -Short Vowel Sounds -Long Vowel Sounds -Vowel Team Sounds -R-Controlled Vowel Sounds. On these charts, 34 vowel types are presented, each with a key picture. These pictures help the students recall the vowel sounds. Use these Vowel Charts to help students learn and review the vowel sounds. Display the Vowel Charts to provide a quick reference when sounding out words.

program from start to finish (along with the help of friends and family
proof-reading and checking our work).
Arlene Martin is the mastermind behind the reading program we call
“Word Family Readers.” She is a reading tutor, veteran preschool teacher, a published author and holds a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education.
Jenni Willoughby is a graphic designer and illustrator — the one who created the silly book drawings and makes all of our resources “look pretty.” We hope that you will take some time to check out our program and consider how it could be a very valuable tool in your classroom, with the students you tutor, your children at home or wherever you teach.
