SEL equals life skills for me, and I want to empower my students to find joy and success in communicating! I am a speech therapist (SLP) that has worked in the public schools for over twenty years in Georgia and Florida. I love to work with and learn from my fellow teachers, OTs, PTs, counselors and students. My current focus has been in collaborating with the SLPs in our school system to talk about social emotional learning and how to meet our students where they are. The needs are changing in many ways, but what a great opportunity to learn together and support our neurodivergent students and their families.

Teacher of the Year for my school in 2007.
Teacher of the Year nominee for my school in 2023 and 2024.
My own education history
I attended the University of Central Florida for undergrad and graduate school. I continue to educate myself through trainings and workshops around the country.
I am currently a SLP in my school system and serve self-contained classes including autism classrooms, as well as pushing in to support students in the general education classroom. I am educating myself on the changing needs of my students and the social world around us.
