With the increased rigor of the Common Core Standards, 1st grade students are now required to know numbers to 120, but many of our classroom number lines only go as far as 100. Create a new reference tool for your classroom and give your students practice in sequencing numbers. Give each group of students a page of random numbers to sequence and glue on a sentence strip. Once completed, simply glue each strip together to create a complete sequence from 1-120. This PDF document contains a page

Place Value Chart Poster with Blocks, Cubes Morning Math

I blew this up into a 18 by 24 poster for my classroom. I think it's so important to introduce this concept in kinder because kids have a lot of trouble with place value on math tests. I have included the chart and all of the colored blocks that match the section colors. Depending upon the size of the poster/chart, this will determine the size that the blocks/cubes should be printed. You may have to decrease the size. If you cannot do that, let me know and maybe I can manipulate the sizes

This poster is 18 inches horizontally by 12 inches vertically. It is best to take this poster in to a printing store because it is larger than a regular piece of paper. The background is an old fashioned green chalkboard with all the fixings (chalk, erasers, and a red apple to boot). On the chalkboard there are 662 digits of Pi and with each digit the font size decreases by .5. The writing looks like chalkboard writing and is a great addition to the math classroom décor.
