Precis- How to write a precis for reading comprehension, main idea and summaries
Precis writing: a step-by-step approach to finding the main idea and writing a summary. Once your students learn this EASY approach, they will have the skills to read a text, pull out the main idea, and write a clear, concise summary. This can be used with students of ALL ages!
The product includes a definition of a precis, explicit instructions, a reproducible graphic organizer to use with your students, and a blank sheet for your students to write their finished products.

Case of the Missing Necklace Lab
Students will become CSI and work to solve who stole the jewels by running tests on evidence left at the scene. Excellent lab for students to go through the steps of the scientific method as well as physical/chemical properties/changes.
