This math challenge requires students to design a new business district for a downtown city. As they add dimensions to their businesses, they must calculate the area of each business and stay under a specified budget. They then must write a letter to the mayor of their city defending their business plan! Note: This is specific for Hagerstown, MD, but please feel free to modify it for your town!

A math contract consists of a grid of math activity choices based upon my math curriculum. My students are expected to complete 9-12 points on each weekly contract, and they should try complete at least one activity in every column.
