I modeled planning an experiment where we would use spinners to see if increasing a possible outcome by one each time and eliminating another possible outcome would give an expected increased outcome of that color. Would the results match the probability accordingly? Could be easily adapted.

Worksheet, quiz, and solutions accompanying the video lesson Basic Statistics Explained: Mean, Median, Mode, and RangeVideo Description: In this lecture, we introduce the fundamentals of statistics — the branch of mathematics that helps us summarize and interpret data. You’ll learn how to calculate and understand the four basic measures that describe any set of numbers: Mean (arithmetic average) – how to find the overall center Median – the true middle value Mode – the most common value Rang
12 worksheets and a quiz on probability, designed for fourth grade level. Teaches tree diagrams or tables to find the list of possible outcomes with two events, mathematical vs. experimental probability, and comparing probabilities as more, less, or equally likely. Can be used in tutoring or as a resource with specific students who need more focused practice on the concept. May be used to quickly review concept or help student re-learn it. I recommend using different pages on different days s
This is a fun and interactive Jeopardy game I created with Smart Notebook to use as a review tool for probability with fractions with my students.
There are 25 questions, with the difficulty of questions increasing with the higher point questions. Questions include rolling dice probability, spinner probability, playing card probability, word problems, and much more.
When a question is asked, click on the value and the question will appear. When the student or team answers the question, cli
A set of 6 worksheets and a quiz on averages (mean, median, mode, and range), designed for fourth and fifth grade level. Focuses just on which is which and how to find them from a list of numbers. Can be used in tutoring or as a resource with specific students who need more focused practice on the concept. May be used to quickly review concept or help student re-learn it. I recommend using different pages on different days so the student has to move information in and out of memory more. I crea

Spice up your warm-up time and add a low-stakes formative assessment strategy to your repertoire! Get students moving and talking about math (and possibly arguing about math) by using this "4-Corners" strategy! Using 4 different sets of similar problems included here, students FIRST work individually on a brief set of problems. Students may not realize that there are 4 different versions of the problems floating around the classroom just yet! Then, after a few minutes of independent work, se
An activity for a class to increase their understanding of probability and chance in real world contexts, the usefulness of graphs and scatterplots for modelling, and how disease is spread and prevented. It also can be used to talk about predicting future patterns based on previously collected data, as well as comparing and contrasting the usefulness of various types of graph. Features an important topic, related to health, prevention, and using science to aid populations. Good for individuals
