Kids cannot learn pieces by pieces. They need to see the whole picture then dig in the pieces for details. Montessori used Timelines to teach kids Cosmic lessons. I use this technique to help my son learn All the Sounds of the Alphabet before 2 years of age, and count to 100 when he was 2.5 years old. Following the "Dolch words" program, this is a beginner review for the first 6-weeks of school. This PowerPoint shows both the uppercase and lower case letters in order and in an easy to read font and format. The colors are bright and engaging to keep the students interested. I used this for the first 6-weeks with my students, but, after a few weeks, I started having the students say the letter sounds instead of the letter names to keep them on their toes.
