A choice chart is a task that reaches students of all levels and learning styles. Students can choose from 8 different tasks. The focus of the addition task reinforces the double facts. Included are followup questions to connect their learning for the day. The choice chart provides parallel tasks and reaches out to all students in the class. The choice chart may also easily be altered and edited to fit for a new math strategy.

I have typed nine real life scenarios for students solve division problems. The stories are coded with graphics to help coordinate their record sheet. I use manipulatives at each station to aide include tactile learners. Manipulatives can be placed in a plastic bag. For example at the station in which balloons are being divided, balloons can be placed in a bag. This lesson is very engaging and fun. I use it in my 3rd grade class but it could also be used for 2nd or 4th.
