The resource works to address the Australian curriculum code: Count and order small collections of Australian coins and notes according to their value (ACMNA034). The purse is effective when working with small groups, implementing play money where they have to 'spend' amounts and calculate different change or amounts leftover. Able to differentiate to students needs quite easily with this resource.

This is a fun way for students to practice Exponents. I use it towards the beginning of my Expressions Unit and they really enjoy it. This activity can be used independently or with a partner. You will need one dice. The first roll of the dice is used for the base number and the second roll is used for the exponent. The students then have to work the exponent problem. If you like this game check out my Notes that we use in class before playing Exponents with Dice!
