Holiday Fun. Working with Percents solved with Proportions and Mental Shortcuts
Here is a fun PowerPoint activity with a holiday theme to use in December. In this lesson, students will be shopping for gifts, calculating sales commission, and determining the amount of weight lost by Santa! The lesson involves solving percentage problems with proportions. Next, you will be solving the same problem using mental math.
Handouts coincide with the presentation which enables the students to work along to complete the proportions and apply mental math skills.

Monster Mash Bash Percents Activity
This Monster Mash Bash Percents Activity can be used as a whole class activity, with groups/partners, or as independent work. It is in Google Slides and is completely editable. Click the link on Slide 2 to access the editable Activity - it will force you to make a copy.
