I teach students with disabilities and I realized that a number line is difficult for students to draw that have fine motor difficulties. This strategy has helped tremendously since I teach students the standard algorithm to add and subtract. You can also use a touch math strategy with this. This has six different examples of start time unknown, end time unknown, and finding the elapsed time.
