I start most of my elementary classes with this quick warm-up! It's series of music vocabulary with intentionally crafted definitions that are based on the Kodály Method. Each definition is paired with a easy-to remember rhythm and/or melody that can reinforce musical learning in all areas. This activity can be student-led, and used to both introduce and reinforce concepts. It is also easy for a substitute teacher to follow if needed.
