Renaissance Artist or Ninja Turtle??

This is a simple introduction activity for Kindergarten or 1st grade Gifted and Talented students to a Renaissance artists unit. Students cut out characteristic cards and paste them into the columns of "Renaissance Artist" or "Ninja Turtle." I usually use this as our first activity as we get into the artists, so this is not an incredibly difficult task.

Help students identify and name the state symbols for Kansas. This matching set needs printed just once to have all the pictures and labels to match and the checking cards to go with it. It includes the following words: Kansas flag, sunflower, ornate box turtle, bison, silt loam, barred tiger salamander, cottonwood tree, western meadowlark, western honeybee, and wheat.
