General Art Project Grading Rubric
After 15 years of teaching visual arts classes, I have streamlined my grading rubric. This rubric is simple, clear, and easy to use for any and all art assignments. It includes two elements: a full-page rubric that can be printed as a poster or added to a slideshow presentation, and smaller rubrics that I photocopy for students. After they finished a project, they fill out one of the rubrics, grade themselves on their work, and then submit them. There is plenty of space for students to evaluate

I developed this art grading rubric for middle and high school art projects. It allows student artwork to be evaluated in 5 areas - Elements of Art, Principals of Design, Creativity/Problem Solving, Craftsmanship, and Effort.
