Yeah, PEMDAS and 'Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally' are helpful ways to teach order of Operations, but do you always do the parenthesis first? And does division necessarily come after multiplication. I teach Order-of-Operations using the kickball game analogy. This really helps students avoid always adding before subtracting which is a common mistake.
