I agree that restroom breaks should not be restricted. But as teachers, we all know that there are students who will abuse these trips and skip out on class time. Worse, they will "need" to use the restroom every day. So, I give each student six restroom passes per semester. They can turn them in at the end of the semester for extra credit points on the final.
