Math Questioning Prompts for Teachers

Sometimes the key to getting students to think at a higher level means we need to ask them the right questions! So often, we teach by “telling” instead of teaching by “asking”. Sometimes we do too much of the work for the students! Do you feel you might give too much away with your coaching? Try printing off these questioning prompts and keeping them with you while you work with students. Resist the urge to tell them too much! They can do so much on their own if asked the right questions.
